Global Medical – Study Abroad Insurance

All Regent University students, faculty, staff and approved guests of the university on a recognized student abroad program or other student or employee travel approved by the University outside of the Insured’s country of Primary Residence. Including travel directly to and from the program location and home and side trips taken in relation to the program. Side trips prior to the program start date or immediately following the end of the program will only be covered up to fourteen days in duration and must occur directly before, after or during the program. Coverage for an insured shall not exceed 365 consecutive days.

Claim Assistance

Administrative Concepts, Inc. (ACI) is the claim manager for this insurance plan. In the event you paid for any medical services while outside of the United States for an injury or illness you will need to submit a claim form to ACI along with copies of the billing statement from the medical provider and a receipt showing proof of payment. Student Accident Insurance

All full-time on campus students at Regent University are insured under the student accident insurance policy. The policy is intended to pay for any reasonable & customary medical costs not covered by the student’s primary health insurance resulting from an injury.

The student accident insurance policy is an excess insurance plan. This means if an injury occurs requiring medical attention claims should be submitted to the student’s primary insurance company. The student accident insurance policy will only pay for any excess expenses not reimbursed by the primary insurance company and meeting the guidelines of this policy.

The student is responsible for submitting all medical bills and Explanation of Benefit statements to the claim administrator. You can ask for assistance on any student accident claim by emailing [email protected].

Please note a representative from your college may be required to sign this claim form to confirm you are eligible for the student accident insurance plan.

What is not covered by this policy?
Injuries suffered prior to the student attending Regent University.

Medical expenses resulting from an illness, unless it is directly caused by the injury.

Please refer to the policy for additional types of injuries not covered by the student accident insurance policy.
HMO Coverage

Several students may be insured by an HMO plan or other forms of insurance requiring pre-approval or advanced notification of care to make sure the claim is processed and paid. The student is responsible for knowing what their primary insurance requires and complying with your health insurance plan.

In addition to working with the claim administrator, Bob McCloskey Insurance , students can also contact our insurance broker, RCM&D, Inc. A dedicated email address has been created to assist Regent students and parents.

Uninsured Students
Students Insured by Medicaid or Tricare

If you are insured by Medicaid or Tricare the student accident plan becomes the primary insurance for claims associated with this policy. The student accident insurance claim should be filed immediately with Bob McCloskey Insurance. Claims should be submitted with all detailed medical bills related to the injury.
Important Claim Procedures
Bob McCloskey Insurance should be notified of any injury within 30 days of the accident.

Any invoice for medical services should be submitted within 90 days from the date the service was provided.

The student is responsible for responding to any request from Bob McCloskey Insurance or your primary insurance carrier for additional information.

Ignoring requests for information to process your claim may result in the medical provider submitting your bill to a collection agency. This could lead to personal credit problems in the future.
